After writing on my blog about Daughters Of The American Revolution I decided to create a treasury on Etsy to honor them and to honor the PAGES of the organization. That treasury ended up being the my most popular treasury as of date that I have made. This tells me that we have many people interested in the history of the United States and the organizations we have that represent our history. This organization is a salute to women in our country and represents the power that we, as women, have when we gather together and get down to business.
Below is my treasury I have displayed on my LilaCInspirations on Etsy. Please feel free to look and see what may be of interest to you. Feel free to comment on my blog, follow my blog, or even "favorite" my treasury to help spread the word about this wonderful organization and the wonderful things they do.

Daughters of The American Revolution - DAR
As I sit and listen to the news on T.V. today I often think about our
forefathers and the sacrifices our descendents have made for us, yes for
us. For me and you. Our freedoms are great in this country. I
don't like politics nor do I rarely talk about politics but unfortunately I see
our freedoms dwindling slowly.
Bake sales being banned in Massachusetts, talk about forcing people to show ID when buying soda. I get very frustrated about all of these new laws being passed and I think "What did our ancestors fight and die for?"
As I was looking on the internet about some of these issues I came across an organization call "Daughters of The American Revolution". I had never heard about this organization and thought I would share it with my followers.
This is a member only organization that is for daughters of descendents of ancestors that fought for our freedoms in the American Revolution. They have great functions and support great organizations. Below is a link about them and how to qualify to become a member.
It is shortened by DAR. As I was reading about them I realized that they have different roles for different members. One of the roles is to be a PAGE. A PAGE is a member of DAR that is designated to serve and help out during meetings, dinners and other functions. PAGES have certain attire they must wear to these functions so that they stand out among the other members. They must wear all white dresses to these functions. I thought that was a different concept until I started thinking about what white stands for, PURITY. What an honor to be considered the purest of the group. White attire can be beautiful yet pure. A few examples of appropriate White Attire for the PAGES are:

This Dressy White dress is VERY appropriate for a PAGE

And yet one more dress if you are a PAGE in DAR
I have a few more white dresses I will be listing to accommodate a PAGE. If you are a PAGE for Daughters of The American Revolution please contact me at wcoonetsy@gmail.com and I will give you a discount on these dresses.

My support of DAR is great and in the future I will keep my eye out for appropriate attire for a PAGE.
On this upcoming Mothers’ Day holiday I want to thank ALL Members of DAR and thank their forefathers for fighting for OUR FREEDOM.
Happy Mothers’ Day
